The Minister of Social Welfare, Blendi Klosi, signed a Welfare Pact with six municipalities in Southern Albania.
This pact foresees that services for people in need will now be a competence of municipalities, as part of the territorial reform.
“Vlore has a population higher than 100.000. There are 2270 disabled people, 750 families on social welfare, and still there are only seven social services. Far from what is needed. This pact will make us understand the responsibilities of the local and central powers”, Klosi said.
The Minister also mentioned pensions and other services for senior citizens: “Tomorrow is March 1st, when pensions will be raised for more than 600.000 citizens”.
