The water reform entered its second phase, and Prime Minister Rama made
it clear once again the objective of the government in this regards.
“Our objective is to double the irrigation area within our mandate”, Rama said.
The second phase is related to taking technical equipments that allow opening more drainage and irrigation canals.
The Prime Minister said that the local government will have support, but it will be based on the results.
“The money used in 20 years for this sector would be enough to rebuild the irrigation system. The fact that this money has not realized its purpose, is related to corruption and to a non credible inspection system”, he declared.
As for the tap water, Rama said that our system produces 28% more than the citizens really need, and the sector suffers the lack of professionals who are no militant parasites.
