While the Serbian President, Alexandar Vucic, was visiting the Umjan Lake, an area that is vital for Kosovo’s water supply, which Vucic said he wants to put to the discussion talks, the President of Kosovo returned to the border correction theory.

Thaci reminds on Facebook that the Albanians of Presheva, Bujanoc and Medvegja, have expressed their will on March 1st and 2nd, 1992, to become part of Kosovo.

“This matter will be discussed along with the demarcation of 430 kilometers between Kosovo and Serbia. Let’s not remain held hostage of the notorious anti-Albanian, Alexandar Rankovic, and let’s work for correcting history and increasing our security for our European future. The result of the eventual peaceful agreement between Kosovo and Serbia will be the mutual recognition with Serbia, the recognition from the five EU countries. Kosovo will access the Council of Europe, the OSCE, and Russia will lift its veto at the Security Council, as a pre-condition for Kosovo’s accession to the UN”, Thaci wrote.

Vucic, on the other hand, visited the Umjan lake and said that Kosovo will not impose anything to Kosovo. He said that most of Kosovo took its water from this dam, built in 1981.

“Gazivoda (Umjan Lake) tells about the hard battles that we have with Albanians. But I hope that we will be discussing the water management, because most of Kosovo receives water from here. It seems that these things will take a long time. But our duty is to preserve peace and to get closer to a solution”, Vucic declared.

For the Albanian citizens, his visit to Umjan is a provocation. “He is emphasizing that without Umjan Kosovo would have no electricity”, a citizen declared.

Another Serb says: “I hope that this visit will be for peace. I don’t think that there will be territory division. We have been living here together for at least 500-600 years. I think we should stay together”.
