Albanian Sculptor Sadik Spahia could have become a rich man if he had sold these machinery parts that have been used during the communist regime. Instead, he used them to build a “singing machine”, or Vox Machina, as he calls it.
A huge musical machinery in the shape of a spatial installation, made of a series of industrial machinery parts, now detached from their initial function.
“These works have a unique spirit. They are transformed into musical objects which release a sound controlled by us. They also release the underground soundtrack, which you can hear once you get closer”, Spahija said.
Spahija wants to turn these objects into public works, especially for the history that they carry.
The works will be displayed at the Turbina Theater until November 10th.
