Voting of blind people

The Central Election Commission is not guaranteeing brail system ballots
papers, so that blind people could vote without needing someone to
accompany to the voting centers.

The Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission, Lefteri Lleshi, had promised the ballots and even programmed the fund that would make this possible.

Although the materials have arrived and the voting ballots have been distributed in the Zonal Election Commissions, the brail ballots do not exist. Three days before the elections the Central Election Commission is not clear about what they will do with this category.

“These people will need someone to accompany them. What will you do?”, declared Eridian Saliani, legal representative of the Socialist Party.

“The Central Election Commission has started the procedures. The law doesn’t exclude people to accompany them at the voting room. We have ordered the production abroad, but we don’t know when they will be ready, because there was not enough time and the ballot paper was longer and different. Let’s see until the end”, declared the Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission, Lefteri Lleshi,

Sources from Top Channel confirm that these ballots will not be on voting centers on the June 23rd elections, because some companies refused to produce them due to the large paper sizes. 10.000 blind people have been trained to vote through these papers, based on a project of the OSCE and the German Embassy.
