Vote the vetting law and then continue to protest, vice Speaker tells DP

Parliament vide Speaker Valentina Leskaj invites Democratic Party MPs to return to Parliament to vote the vetting law and then go on with their protest as an obligation towards the constitution and their citizens.

“Opposition should fulfill this constitutional obligation. The vetting law is holding negotiations talks back between Albania and the European Union”, she said.

Leskaj also insisted the Socialist Party is prepared to go to the polls even without the opposition taking part in them. “Since elections are being used as an alibi I want to say vetting vote is also about elections. If the judiciary system is reformed then it becomes more difficult to manipulate elections”, she said.

“We are determined to organize these elections and have a constitutional obligation on June 18th to give account to the people for what we have done and have not done, and also for what we will do in the future”, Leskaj added.
