On the day of independence, the government opened the competition for
one of the biggest projects for the city of Vlore, where the
independence flag was raised 101 years ago: the construction of the
“Lungo Mare”.
The project details were revealed in the “Petro Marko” theater in Vlore, and it shows the construction of the promenade from the Pylli i Sodes and to the Tunel. The Prime Minister declared that this was an ambitious project of his government to turn the city of Vlore into one of most attractive cities in the Mediterranean.
“This city and their coastline are a challenge to be won. Our objective is to realize this project before summer 2015. We have all capacities to turn it to reality and without delays”, Rama declared.
Rama expressed his conviction that regardless of the chaotic constructions in the coastline, due to the lack of vision from the previous government, the potential is still there for preserving and developing a tourism that can be compared to the Mediterranean countries. In the city where he was elected Parliament Member, the government leader made a promise.
“Our merit will be when this natural fate will turn into a stable source of economi development, of employment, welfare, and a city where everyone will feel lucky to have been born here, and won’t feel the need to go somewhere else, because they will have here not only their families and their homes, but also a secure job”, Rama declared.
