After authorities demolished eight buildings in Himara, the Court of Vlore issued an order to suspect the process, after a complaint filed by residents.

Fatmir Meta, Director of the National Inspectorate for Territory Protection said that this order is illegal and they appealed it.

The operation started early this morning as residents were protesting, in presence of Vangjel Dule, leader of the United for Human Rights Party, which represents the Greek Minority.

“The Prime Minister is acting like an invader. The only thing that remains to them is moving and migrating”, Dule said.

One person has been taken under police custody after attempting to put on fire a gas station that was being demolished.

The authorities are expected to demolish 23 other buildings, to start the urban qualification of the town.
