The EU representative in Albania, Romana Vlahutin, declared this
Thursday that the Vetting process is the main condition for Albania’s EU
integration.
She said that the citizens are clear about when the accession negotiations will start.
“The most important thing in this year’s report is that there is a direct connection with the implementation of the justice reform, regarding Albania’s EU path. The first and most important is the Vetting Law. It is very important for whoever will lead Albania in the future, that the justice reform and its implementation will be the main task. It is better to make this clear, so that citizens can have a better understanding of the governing. Not of the government, but of the governing”, Vlahutin said.
The EU Ambassador declared that the report is positive for 90%, but there is still more work to be done.
“Free and fair elections. We are focusing our attention on it. There is a reform that is being done and the Parliament must come out with an answer for the ODIHR recommendations, so that the next elections are better prepared”, Vlahutin said.
