The Health Minister, Petrit Vasili, assembled the heads of the Tirana
University Hospital Center for discussing the measures that will be
taken for the New Year holidays.
The Minister has ordered stronger measures, seeing the high number of people infected with viral flue.
“We need a higher alert state for the New Year. The children and the senior citizens must be very careful, because the cold weather could affect their health”, Vasili declared.
More than 300 children are visited each day by the “Mother Theresa” Pediatric Hospital. The doctors explain that the viral flu of this season has fever, cough, vomits and diarrhea.
The number of affected children is high, but specialists say that this number of visits is normal for this time of the year.
The sudden temperature changes affect the spread of the viral flu. The meteorologists predict that the New Year days will be cold, with temperatures falling under zero.
