The Western Balkan Summit will be held on August 27th in Vienna. This is
considered as the second chapter of a process that started with the
Berlin Conference one year ago.
The discussions will focus on the road infrastructure, railways, energy, regional cooperation, youth, immigration, fight against radicalization and terrorism.
The summit is seen as very important not only by the countries of Western Balkan, but also by the EU itself. To confirm this, there will be the presence of the Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi; the Chief of the EU Foreign Policy, Federica Mogherini; Commissioner Johannes Hahn; the German Foreign Minister and the initiator of this process, the German chancellor, Angela Merkel.
Other leaders of the region have confirmed the participation, such as the Prime Ministers of Albania, Serbia, highest leaders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Croatia. A representative group is also expected from France.
