Vienna “Incident”, Berisha: Investigative Commission

The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, accused the Socialist Party
leader, Edi Rama, of using brutal and immoral violence against an
Albanian diplomat in Vienna, and proposed the establishment of an
investigative commission regarding some details about what happened in
yesterday’s meeting at the Vienna Diplomatic Academy premises.

“What happened in Vienna has never happened even with the communist leaders. This Monday we will vote the establishment of the Investigative Commission about this issue. This is a collective hysteria and Rama will take what he deserves after the investigation”, Berisha declared with high tones.

The government leader reiterated that he will make use of his Constitutional right to summon the Parliament at any time to establish an investigative commission.

After Berisha, the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group leader, Gramoz Ruci, underlined that the Foreign ministry should announce the firing of this diplomat, rather than defending him.

“The only thing that you should do now is freeing the diplomat and apologize to the Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama”, Ruci declared.

The Deputy Foreign Minister, Edit Harxhi, announced in a press release that Albania’s image has been offended several times at the Vienna Diplomatic Academy.

“One of the Albanian diplomats, Egin Ceka, approached Mr.Rama to ask him about idea against the procedures that could guarantee the emigrants’ vote. After exchanging some harsh words, Rama has declared that the vote of the Albanians cannot be left to the Albanian diplomacy abroad, because it is very politicized. Rama has initially used verbal and then physical violence against Ceka, which has ended up with an open conflict against each other”, Harxhi declared.

In a public reaction made for the media, the Socialist Party declared that they feel bad for the banal level of the Albanian diplomatic body.

“At the Vienna Diplomatic Academy, after a dialogue of more than two hours with a honored public, the son of Neritan Ceka, who is paid with the citizens’ money as a diplomat because of his father, approached to Edi Rama and launched a series of accusations against the opposition. While the Socialist leader tried to calm him down, other people that were present removed him from the premises. The Foreign Ministry continues with its propaganda against the opposition by defending a “diplomat” that is nothing more than the image of the degradation of our diplomatic body, a group of family members of the government leaders”, the Socialist Party reaction states.
