A video shown on Top Channel’s “Open’ showed the shootout between the Greek extremist and the Albanian Police, as village children walk by.
Katsifa was a Greek nationalist, who was arrested by the Greek police in 2009, as member of a criminal organization that trafficked drugs.
He has also been under investigation as an extremist nationalist, although he wasn’t a member of the Golden Dawn.
According to the Dropull Vice Mayor, Katsifa ad ran for village Reeve and had also tried to get a job as firefighter at the municipality.
The Vice Mayor also says that the killing was provoked by the police. “There was no need for the police to intervene”, he said, although Katsifa had been shooting around in the village when police moved in to stop him.
