Same as every 20 November, in Durres were commemorated the young men who
were interned in the Mathausen and other Nazi concentration camps,
during the Second World War.
Local leaders, veterans and family members paid homage with wreaths at the memorial built in Shkozet.
The participators commemorated the 20 November of 1943, when the Durres citizens had their houses raided and their sons taken by force.
The Durres young men were brought where today stands the memorial, and then were sent to the Tirana prison. On the same day they were sent to the concentration camps of Prishtina, Mathauzen, Zemun, Dakau etc.
The memorial has the names of 43 young people who were killed in the camps of Zemun and Mathausen.
