Vetting process among police forces has started with its highest leaders, Chief Haki Cako.
The Vetting Commissions at the Police will be similar to the ones established for the judiciary.
“This is the model that we will follow. We are dealing with a security force, not with a major power, such as the judiciary. The Vetting Institutions should be independent from the Interior Ministry and from the government”, said Julian Hodaj, Deputy Minister of Interior.
Same as with the Force of Law operation, foreign experts will also be present with this one.
“They will have a monitoring and advisory role, to guarantee a transparent process”, Hodaj declared.
But the Police Vetting has started before January. 20 officers have not been allowed to have the security certificate, for unclear reasons.
