The Vetting of the judiciary system is officially on as the Constitutional Court cast lots for selecting five cases of any of their judges.

The Vetting starts with the President of the Constitutional Court, Bashkim Deadja, reelected a few weeks ago for a second term. Then it continues with Vitore Tusha, Altina Xhoxhaj, Fatmir Hoxha, Gani Dizdari, Besnik Imeraj and Fatos Lulo.

The Vetting process includes vetting the financial resources and assets of judges and of their relatives, and also their ties with people of criminal background.

35 cases have been selected so far from 7 Constitutional Courts, from 2013 to 2016. There are no details for how long this process will take.

Present in this ceremony was also Prime Minister Edi Rama, who was very harsh with the judiciary, except for the Constitution: “This is the only institution with a honest history”, Rama said, referring especially to the decision which rejected the maritime border agreement with Greece.
