The Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, referred to the Freedom House
report and its corruption section to support what the opposition calls
“dark privatization”, which he promised to reveal.
“We will build a transparent process for the return and compensation of property. We will give an extraordinary power to a Commission that will be tasked by the Albanian Parliament to make full transparency on what has happened with the public and private properties of this country. A “Freedom House” report recently published speaks about the ruin that these privatizations have brought to the Albanian economy”, Rama declared.
By comparing the Albanian government with the Prrenjas Mine ruins, which now are out of order, the opposition leader commented today’s promise for reducing the pension wage for miners. He reminded that Berisha’s majority rejected the opposition’s draft-law in Parliament for the miner’s status and for reducing the pension wage for them.
“How can he say that he will reduce the pension limit to 50 years, and that he will give a special treatment to miners? How can he promise that today he will review pensions, when he has rejected all our projects? How can he say today that he will reduce the oil price, that he will reduce the production cost, when he has refused these initiatives with his Parliamentary vote, and by calling them communist propositions?”, Rama declared.
The opposition leader promised to rebuild the mine and encourage the development of processing industry, the entire cycle of which will be developed in our country to encourage the production economy.
“I promise to build a project that will encourage serious investors to come and realize a concrete project”, Rama declared.
