Venice Commissionl: “Vetting law, without issues”

10/12/2016 00:00

The Venice Commission has not opposed the Vetting Law, and state that
these dispositions do not go against the laws of the European Human
Right Conventions. They do not show problems about any of the issues
raised by the Constitutional Court of Albania.

The Commission, based on the text obtained by the Voice of America, has made a positive assessment of the law and has analyzed with details the questions that were raised by the opposition’s complaint at the Constitutional Court, which then suspended the law.

The Constitutional Court has made four specific questions to the Venice Commission, asking them for an opinion.

The Venice Commission has been very active with the Justice Reform, initially with the preliminary opinion offered in December 2015, and then with a final Opinion that reviewed some of the first remarks.
