The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, and two co-directors of the Albanian-American Development Foundation, Martin Mata and Aleksander Sarapuli, signed a cooperation agreement for turning Tirana’s “Pyramid” into the biggest multi-functional centre for youth, focused in digital education, art and culture.
“We are taking the first step for formalizing an agreement between the Tirana Municipality and AADF for transforming this iconic building of our capital into the biggest center for youth, focusing in digital education, IT culture and art, culture, professional courses and other youth spaces”, Veliaj underlined.
The Pyramid will serve as an incubator for businesses of innovation, art and culture.
The Mayor explained that the project is divided into two phases, one for the rehabilitation of the building and another one for guaranteeing good management since it will receive 5000 people a day.
The Municipality is currently working with many architecture studios, and there will be a public presentation in May about the transformation of the Pyramid.
