Veliaj: “Tirana, a regional center for Balkan”

Veliaj was invited by his counterpart, Gregoire Junod, to increase cooperation between the two cities.

The Mayor of Albania’s capital said that Tirana aims to turn into a regional center of Balkan.

“We want to turn Tirana into a regional center for Balkan, with many international institutions and corporate having their headquarters there. I am happy that we have taken some positive steps in cooperation with Lausanne, because we want to learn from the best. Especially as regards sportive activities”, Veliaj said.

The Mayor of Lausanne, Gregoire Junod, expressed his readiness to conduct concrete cooperation operations with Tirana, not only in sports but also in other cultural matters.

Veliaj also met with the Albanian community iun Lausanne, and with political and business representatives.
