The entire Grand Park of Tirana will be accessible to the public starting from this summer, as the southern part of the park has also been filled with newly planted trees.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said the area was cleaned from illegal constructions, and now it has more green spaces and new lanes for runners and for bicycles.
“This will be the first summer when citizens will enjoy the entire park. We are preparing the second park, at the Farka Lake, for another entertainment area for citizens”, Veliaj said.
He appealed citizens to make use of the remaining time and plant more trees, contributing this way to the city’s environment.
