The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, presented the changes made to Tirana at the meeting of the Irish Foundation of Architecture, in Dublin.
The Skanderbeg Square, New Market, New Boulevard, were some of the projects that attracted more interest. Veliaj underlined that the changes in Tirana will continue with other projects, such as the revival of the Pyramid.
“It was a pleasure to present some of Tirana’s most qualitative projects. We are finally watching our country at the international arena, where many of these artists and architects are placing our city on the map. The sooner we go beyond our yard, our small fights, the more we understand the reputation that Tirana and Albania are earning. This doesn’t help us to focus. Let’s walk forward with things that get us together, rather than dividing for smaller matters”, said the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.
Veliaj underlined that many architecture projects have turned into introduction passports of the capital in many international forums.
He added that the transformation success of Tirana takes a special importance for the fact that it comes as result of a hard work and contribution of all citizens who are now working together to clean their city and plant more trees.
A great merit for this success story, according to him, goes to the citizens of Tirana, who have mostly welcomed the initiatives of the Tirana Municipality.
