The winning candidate for Tirana, Erjon Veliaj, said that the victory of
the left coalition was spectacular in Tirana and throughout the
country. He said that if someone was suspicious or cynical about the
civility of this country and its democracy, today has the answer.
“Winning 46 out of 61 municipalities is the most impressive victory of socialists and progressists in the past year. I want to thank the activists of the SP, SMI, PJIU and other parties, who treated the elections as a joitn race for our coalition. I want to thank the Pirme Minister and Parliament Speaker for their constant encouragement and support”, Veliaj declared, thanking also Pandeli Majko and Saimir Tahiri.
Veliaj also valued the figure of Halim kosova, saying that he was a good example of a campaign far from political conflicts, together with the independent candidates, such as Gjergj Bojaxhi and Sazan Guri. Veliaj said he respects the decision of those who didn’t vote and that he will be to the service of everyone.
