In a meeting with his counterpart from Bologna, Italy, the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that the development of agro-tourism and of suburban areas remains the main ambition of the institution he leads.
Veliaj said that Bologna’s experience in this area will serve to realize this ambition of Tirana, a municipality that is blessed with a nice natural environment around the city.
The two Mayors discussed orienting young students in the job market since Tirana remains Albania’s higher-education epicentre.
“Bologna has the oldest university in Europe. Many students who study in Bologna end up living there and working there. It happens the same with Tirana’s students. We must learn from the best how to make it possible for these people to build their future and create families in our city. We need to help them get homes and then orient them to the job market. Bologna is the best example for this”, Veliaj said.
