Veliaj mocks the opposition’s promise of “free buses”: Why don’t they do them in Shkodra

Erion Veliaj participated today in the last meeting of the municipal council in his second term as mayor of Tirana.

Veliaj mentioned two bills that show that the people in Shkodra pay more taxes than a family in Tirana, raising questions as to why opposition PD, which heads the municipality of the Albanian northeastern center, does not make bus transportation in this city free, as they promise in this campaign.

“The municipality of Shkodra collects more taxes from families than Tirana, and once again it cannot make any bus line free.” – said Veliaj, in the context of the race for the local elections on May 14.

Meanwhile, the mayor also announced the opening of two kindergartens and nurseries in the Astir and Ndroq areas in Tirana, saying that the Astir area voted for SP in power with over 60% of the votes in the last elections.

“There is a reason why Astiri voted for us in over 60%, because Astir rightly says that those who built 40 schools can also do 44, while those who have not touched anything with their hands they can’t get the hair out of the porridge. Whereas, the next nursery will be opened in Ndroq, the number of children in the nursery in Astir will be 126, while in Ndroq 41,” added Veliaj.
