The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, declared from Denver, USA, where he is attending the annual conference “Cities Growing Green”, in which he presented the transforming projects of Tirana, said that the projects of the National Theater, New Ring Road and New Boulevard will not be stopped by some minorities.
Veliaj said that same as any other thing that has been done in Tirana after it was opposed, the theater as well will be done, and it will serve to actors and art lovers.
“We have overcome many challenges in our first mandate. I remember the playground at the lake, and the protests against it. Even in the USA, many projects that bring change are seen with a sense of hysteria, protests and discontent. However, when change comes, it is embraced by everyone. The change will come in Tirana even for other controversial matters, such as the enlargement of the Lana Lake, the Ring Road, the new National Theater, etc. The city cannot be withheld by some minorities that will always exist and will always disagree”, Veliajn said.
