The newly elected Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that anyone who damages monuments will from now on be facing the law.
Veliaj said that the Independence Monument at the Rinia Park needs to be reconstructed, since it has been stolen and damaged several times in the past.
The Mayor underlined that the work that has started will include all historic monuments in the city that are in a bad situation.
