The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, declared during the first meeting of
the new Municipal Council that they some technical steps for having a
functional unification of the 13 communes with the big municipality.
“The municipality will have 13 new communes attached. Some technical steps are needed for a functional unification. Citizens must receive all services without interruption even in this time of transition. We must recover the lost time in a record time, because the previous municipality did not cooperate with the Ministry of State to implement the territorial reform”, Veliaj declared.
The Mayor of Tirana added that the fiscal packages of the communes will be joined with that of Tirana, but they will not change.
