The Dutch government, oriented by the OSCE, has given five vehicles to
the Albanian police for crowd control and management in possible
turmoil.
The Interior Minister, Bujar Nishani, declared that OSCE is continuing to contribute in the war of the Albanian police against crime and for preserving law and order.
The OSCE ambassador in Tirana, Eugen Wollfarth declared that this ceremony commemorates one of the most tragic days of the country, that of 21 January 2011, when four Albanians lost their lives. According to Wollfarth, the state system is still being challenged by the consequences of this event.
Wollfarth declared that right after the violent protests, OSCE decided to offer assistance to the state police, in order to guarantee a better management of the violent protests.
