Greek authorities say that the vehicle belonging to the Albania vice consul in Thessaloniki, Renaldo Andoni, was destroyed by a home-made bomb.

The vehicle was parked close to his house and the bomb was detonated at 2:30 am.

Police say they haven’t excluded anything as regards the motive, but there are suspicions that it could be related to PAOK football fans, whose match with Olympiacos was cancelled this Sunday, and the exploded vehicle was very close to the stadium.

It is not the first time that vehicles of the Albanian consulate are being destroyed by home-made bombs in Thessaloniki. In 2009, two vehicles were damaged the same way, by homemade bombs, and both vehicles belonged to the Albanian consulate.
