Budget revenues increased by 7.6% in January, bringing 20 million EUR more compared to one year ago.
Official data from the Ministry of Finances show that the growth has been caused by increased income from VAT, excise and especially social insurance.
The income from VAT and excise grew by 10% compared to the last year.
Revenues from social insurance increased by 18%, thanks to the increased number of employed people who pay insurance.
According to the Ministry of Finances, the government has used this growth for more spending.
Total budget spending in January was 227 million EUR, 20% more than last year.
The growth was used for public investments, which have increased threefold compared to last year.
However, this is the first year. The government has planned to increase the income by 5.9% compared to the last year, the same for spending.
The budget deficit should be kept at 2% of the national GDP, same as last year.
