The body of Vace Zela, Artist of the People, arrived in Tirana at 18:00,
at her apartment, accompanied by relatives and State Police. The
funeral entered from the Morina Customs, in Kukes, after a ceremony held
in Prishtina.
Her body will stay until Saturday at her house in the Albanian capital. Homage will be paid at the National Theater of Opera and Ballet from 10:00 to 12:00. The ceremony has been organized by the Ministry of Culture, under the attention of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
“It will be a special ceremony, decent for an artist like Vace Zela. Anyone might pay homage and leave a memory. It will be a ceremony of the Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Prime Minister, who took care of all the details for the homage. Vace Zela passed away, but she left our voice to us”, declared Minister Mirela Kumbaro.
After the homage, the body of the artist will be sent to the Sharra Cemetery, where the last greeting will be given.

Prishtina, homage for the icon of the Albanian music
The last wish of the Albanian music icon, Vace Zela, to pass through the land of Kosovo, was finally realized. Vace Zela’s body arrived in Prishtina’s airport “Adem Jashari” at 14:00, from Zurich, Switzerland.
In a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, homage were paid by the highest personalities of art and relatives of the singer.
“This is a huge loss for the entire people. Her wish was to be buried in her homeland, and it is being realized”, declared the brother of the singer, Hysni Zela.
“I am very touched, because my wife deserved this love and respect. I try to imagine as if she was experiencing this. What impressions she would have. Vace had a desire, and that was to come to Kosovo after the liberation”, declared her husband, Pjeter Radiqi.
““Honor of our Nation”, the kingdom of music lost her queen. I am very touched from the fact that one of her last wishes was having her body go through Kosovo”, declared Agim Doci, poet and friend of Vace Zela.
Famous singers and friends of Vace Zela from Kosovo, Nexhmije Pagarusha and Shpresa Gashi, commemorated the famous singer of the Albanian music.
“I feel bad, but I am also happy. I have Vace in my heart. I have lived with her. She will always be with me. Her body will not be here anymore, but her soul will be”, Pagarusha declared.
“It’s a great loss. I remember her not only as a special and unique person, but also as a huge artistic soul, with huge intelligence and sophisticate humor”, Gashi declared.
For Kosovo’s institutions, the passing away of Vace Zela is a loss for the nation, but her work will remain among the most important heritage in our country.
“On behalf of the Minister of Culture, we express our deepest condolences for the loss of a huge singer like Vace Zela. This is a loss for the entire Albania nation and music. She remains the best ambassador of the Albanian song”, declared Jehona Shyti.
“Vace with her voice sang to our nation, to our country, and this desire of hers that is being fulfilled today, is the biggest honor. It is an obligation for this woman that has given a good name to Albania”, declared Islam Lauka, Ambassador of Albania in Kosovo.
The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, was not present in the ceremony due to a visit in the United States of America. Vace Zela’s body was accompanied by state protocol to the Vermica border.
