Albanian authorities have confirmed that the Delta variant of the coronavirus has been circulating in the country since June.
Family doctors as always are on the front line in the face of the virus and its mutations, and recommend the vaccine as the main weapon against it.
Bruna Shiroka, Family Doctor: “Recently we have had 8-10 cases of patients per day with symptoms such as fever up to 40 degrees that does not fall for 5-7 days, headache, cough, sore throat, muscle aches, sweating, runny nose.
“I can not say that they are symptoms of the Delta variant. This is clarified by a quick tampon or test as well as detailed analysis.
“We notice that patients vaccinated with both doses show mild symptoms of seasonal flu. There are patients who say they will travel abroad, so you need the vaccine, but I tell you that the vaccine is not a passport for travel abroad, nor a document, but our only weapon against Covid and his mutations.
“I urge you to get vaccinated as soon as possible to avoid the bitter fatalities we have experienced so far.”
