An understanding memorandum was signed this Wednesday between the
Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, USAID and the Association
of Aqueduct and Canalization (SHUKALB). The purpose is to create a
certification program based on the test for operational managers in the
water supply and canalization sectors.
The program will be institutionalized by the Albanian government and will have all associations to employ certified managerial operators. USAID and SHUKALB will undertake the training of the candidates for the certification tests.
The Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Edmond Haxhinasto, this memorandum is a very important step in the deep reform that is undergoing in Albania.
For the USAID Director, Clare Masson, the certification based on the tests is considered important for a stable and professional management of the aqueduct and drainage systems.
The executive director of SHUKALB, Giantris, says that the establishing of capacities for members and interested parties is one of their main missions.
The first training courses will start by early 2016.
