The US Deputy Assistant Secretary, Hoyt Brian Yee, declared that the West should be direct with Balkan leaders.
“It is shameful how Balkan leaders are received in European capitals, regardless of their shameful acts, as if they had done nothing bad. When citizens see these leaders meeting with high-level European officials, they reach their own conclusions”, Yee declared.
Yee warned that the USA will not allow that the judiciary reform stays just on paper.
“We will not be happy with a partial implementation. We will ask the government and opposition to keep their promises. The purpose is not to make USA or the EU happy, but to establish a proper rule of law in Albania”, Yee declared.
