USA supports Zaev’s mandate

After the news that the leader of the LSDM, Zoran Zaev, presented to
President Ivanov the 67 signatures needed for a government term, the USA
in Skopje released a declaration in which they remind how indispensable
it is to respect the democratic processes.
“We agree with the declaration of the NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, and with the declaration of the European Commissioner, Johannes Hahn, for forming the government”, the US Embassy says.
Zaev made an agreement with the Albanian parties, BDI, Besa and Alliance for Albanians, saying that this was a historic day for the country, although Ivanov has not mandated him yet.
According to him, these signatures will allow Macedonia to overcome the current crisis and start progressing. The President is expected to issue his stance in the following days.
