USA: Stop Political Rhetoric

US asked Albanian politicians to stop political rhetoric and Central
Election Commission to function with transparency and within the law.

This declaration was given in a declaration of Philip Gordon, US Deputy-Secretary of State.

He emphasized that US have followed the situation in Albania since May 8th Elections Day.

Gordon underlines that rhetorics that threaten for violence or insinuates violent acts is not appropriate and endangers Albania’s future.

US Deputy-Secretary Gordon highlighted the significance of the Central Election Commission for functioning with transparency, in full accordance with the law, in order to create credibility within population and to guarantee integrity of this institution’s mandate.

“Albanian politicians must focus on constructive dialogue, with acts that serve for a EU future for the country, and not for negative acts that only denigrate the process”, writes Gordon in his letter.

Mr. Gordon declared that Albanian people deserve a stable and more progressive democracy, based on universal values and rule of law.
