During an interview for Radio Free Europe, The US Deputy Assistant
Secretary of State, Thomas Countryman greeted on behalf of USA the
agreement that was reached for establishing peace in Northern Kosovo,
saying that this opens way to the EU mediated dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
“We appreciate the fact that Belgrade and Prishtina have showed patience and readiness for establishing peace until the further discussions about this disagreement”, Countryman declared.
According to him, this pact stabilizes the situation and opens way to a very important discussion, which is the continuity of the EU mediated dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
“The discussion about the issues about Northern Kosovo is unavoidable, and it’s on the interest of both countries to work for finding a practical way for solving these issues of the everyday life of all Kosovo citizens. It is also for the benefit of all Serbian citizens”, Countryman declared.
