The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush haradinaj, declared on his return from the USA that he received the blessing of America for transforming the Kosovo Security Forces into the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kosovo.
His declaration was supported this Friday by the US Embassy in Prishtina, which announced that they support the creation of the Kosovo Republic, an army that will be used only for territorial self-defense.
“No country can veto this transition”, says the response of the US Embassy in Kosovo.
According to the Embassy, the process should be all-inclusive and it should address the multi-ethnic nature of the country. Everything should be coordinated with the allies and the NATO.
During his visit in the USA, Prime Minister Haradinaj met with the Defense Secretary, James Mattis, and received his support for progressing with the transformation.
