USA: Great year for Albania’s reforms

USA’s 243-rd anniversary of independence, celebrated at the US Embassy in Tirana, had President Meta and Speaker Ruci get together in one place, although the latter started an investigation committee with the purpose to remove the former from his duty.

The US Chargè d’Affaires, Layla Moses-Ones, said that together we must all follow the Western values and ideals, and keep protecting freedom from corruption, by creating an independent judiciary.

She added that the USA will stand by Albania’s side as the country works harder towards such freedom, and said that this year saw the achievement of several milestones.

“Our bilateral and relations and multi-lateral military cooperation for the law enforcement and security are closer than ever, through investments such as the Kucova Airbase, with academic exchange and the judiciary reforms, which are progressing with the establishing of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and the National Bureau of Investigation”, she said.
