The latest political developments in Albania were greeted by the US Embassy in Tirana.
The Embassy says through a press release that they welcome the initial steps of the Albanian Parliament towards the treatment of critical reforms recommended by EU and OSCE.
The Embassy emphasized the establishment of an ad-hoc Commission for the Electoral Reform, and the approval of two laws that require qualified majority.
The US Embassy in Tirana underlines in that these positive steps must continue in the future.
The declaration concludes with the Embassy’s encouragement to all political leaders for continuing their work and keeps the positive pace.
The consensus was also greeted by the head of the OSCE presence in Tirana, Eugen Wollfarth, who declared that this is an inspiring beginning.
The EU Ambassador, Ettore Sequi, also greeted the consensus by underlining that the road towards EU is built on cooperation and based on dialogue.
The establishment of the Parliamentary Commission for the Electoral Reform and the passing of two qualified majority laws was also welcomed by the Commissioner for Enlargement, Stefan Fule.
