One day after the the Assistant Secretary of State for European and
Eurasian Affairs at the United States Department of State, Victoria
Nuland, declared on Top Channel that she would like to see more American
investments in energy, the US Ambassador to Tirana, Alexander Arvizu,
held a meeting with the Minister of Energy, Damian Gjiknuri.
According to the official announcement, Arvizu and Gjiknuri discussed about finding the right reforms to deepen the cooperation between the two countries in this area. The meeting was also about investments in the oil and gas sector in general.
Ambassador Arvizu confirmed the interest of American companies for the bids that are expected to be held in the fuel sector, while Minister Gjiknuri declared that the government supports and encourages American investors to exploit the potentials that are offered by Albania.
