US Embasy reacts after US State Department report

While the US State Department Report underlined the presence of an MP
sentenced for human traffic in the Albanian Parliament, the US Embassy
in Tirana, one day after the report, considers this as very shameful.
The Embassy says they will be active with the Albanian political parties for cleaning the political and public scene from people with a criminal past.
“The Albanian people have the right to be represented by people of high standards, and not criminals. The US will keep asking the political parties to keep individuals with a criminal past far from the public life of Albania”, the Embassy says.
The declaration of the US embassy underlines that the report also notes the progress done in this area, and they encourage the Albanian government to fight all forms of human traffic.
