The US Embassy to Tirana expressed their country’s support to every uncompromised judge who decides different from their corrupted colleagues, those who use their power to get richer and to favor the “strongmen”.
The US Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires, Leyla Moses-Ones, reminded the “Shullazi” and “Tahiri” cases: “The commitment of the USA to establish the rule of law in Albania is very firm. We will keep standing by those honest and courageous public servants who are building a better future for the judiciary. We support them for the Shullazi and Tahiri cases. As long as you fight for justice, the USA will always be by your side”, Leyla Moses-Ones said.
The new magistrate students, who are seen by the USA as the new face of change, cannot start their duty before the Supreme Councils of the Prosecution and Judiciary are established.
The President of the Supreme Court, Xhezari Zaganjori, told young magistrates about the dark side of the judiciary: “Traffickers, counterfeiter and thieves will try to entice you, but you must respect the law”, he said.
