The Albanian Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, received a message from the
Chairman of the National Security Commission at the US Congress,
congressman Michael McCaul, after the Parliament passed the Justice
Reform law.
McCaul expresses his estimation for Spekaer Meta and the Albanian Parliament, after passing the Justice Reform with success.
“As a former Federal Prosecutor, I strongly believe that the rule of law should serve as the foundation of any democratic society. It should be based on trust, accountability and equality before law. I also trust that the justice reform will serve as a stable foundation on which your country may continue to progress. I welcome the creation of the National Bureau of Investigation based on the model of the FBI in the USA. This is a clear indicator of Albania’s determination on the reform path”, McCaul says in his message.
The US Congressman underlined that the two NATO member countries, the USA and Albania, need to work together and face matters of mutual interest, such as the fight against violent extremism. “Addressing these matters without partnership is not an option, that’s why I welcome further cooperation of our countries”.
McCaul concludes his message with congratulations for the justice reform.
