The US Republican congressman, Peter Roskam says that Russia may profit
from the political instability in Macedonia to try and take back the
part of Balkan they lost after the Soviet Union collapse.
At the very least, Russia’s role will be limited at being provocative, says the US lawmaker for Washington examiner.
“This is an game of Moscow. They create the fake impression of turmoil, or make maximal use when they really exist”, he said.
Macedonia is destabilized now and Russians are happy to take advantage. “The comments used by Moscow regarding Skopje are identical to the words they said during the invasion of Southern Ossetia, Donetsk”, the Congressman said.
“The purpose of Russia’s intervention in Ukraine was to support their pro-Russian leader, who would be replaced by a pro-western government”, the lawmaker adds.
