The US Embassy in Tirana supported the Prime Minister’s appeal to
postpone the local early elections in Kavaja, with the purpose to focus
on dialogue.
“We encourage dialogue, because the time that is now remaining to resolve the situation through negotiations before the June 18th is limited”, says the press release.
On the other hand, the US Embassy to Tirana expressed their support for the right of Albanians to protest peacefully, and encouraged all parties to show restraint.
OSCE
The OSCE presence to Tirana expressed a message on the same lines. Their message on twitter: “OSCE was informed about the initiative of Prime Minister Edi Rama, and welcomes the possibility to continue negotiations and implement recommendations”, ODIHR said.
British Embassy
The British Ambassador in our country, Duncan Norman, also greeted the decision to postpone elections: “We appeal militants to postpone violence before and during elections”, Duncan declared on a press release.
