US Ambassador: “We are watching Xhafaj’s case very closely, but that’s no reason to not catch big fish”

Right after the Ministry of Interior gave details about the meeting between Minister Xhafaj and the US Ambassador, the embassy distributed a reaction regarding the Minister’s brother and accusations about being involved with the drug traffic.

“Facts and evidence, including the authenticity of the recorded audio, deserve to be investigated independently”, he said. “But this should not be a reason to stop the fight against organized crime”, which according to Lu, has already started.

“Now it is the time for Albania to finish what they started”, said the US Ambassador.
