The Ambassador of the United States of America in Albania, Yuri Kim, held meetings with representatives of civil society, with whom she spoke about the upcoming April 25 elections.
In a message on Facebook, the US embassy states that Ambassador Kim has agreed with civil society representatives that leaders should commit to verifying their candidates and providing clean candidates’ lists.
“Ambassador Kim had a good discussion with civil society representatives about their concerns and ideas to ensure accountability in government and transparency before the April 25 elections. They agreed that party leaders should commit to verifying their candidates and ensuring clean lists. “She thanked the civil society in Albania for its contribution to democracy and accountability,” the embassy post reads.
