The US Ambassador to Tirana, Donald Lu, was invited on “Opinion” tonight where he spoke about the judiciary reform and the arrest of the so-called “big fish”.
He said that the investigation of the former Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, have advanced and they are expecting a criminal prosecution very soon.
“The Tahiri case is under investigation and we are close to a criminal prosecution. The USA has insisted that his trial should be made in courts, not in the hands of Albanian politicians”, Lu declared.
The Ambassador spoke about other names connected to crime; names that he has mentioned publicly even in the past, while he explained the position of former Chief Prosecutor, Adriatik Llalla.
“Llalla was the first official who was banned from entering the USA, and this decision came after the conviction that he was a completely corrupted person. A very important person of the organized crime has been arrested in Bodrum, Turkey, while we are pushing for the arrest of Klement Balili. We believe that we are pressuring state structures to arrest Klement Balili the soonest possible, and I trust that he will be brought to justice very soon”, Donald Lu said.
